Raewyn is mum to a young adult son and is a full time massage and lymphatic drainage therapist. She is also proud to be a director of Hukanui Body Therapies Ltd – a team of dedicated professional natural health practitioners, working together to provide clients with the best possible personal care.
Raewyn worked in administration within the health sector prior to becoming a massage therapist. Whilst deciding where to go with her career, either nursing or midwifery, she began a night school class for massage at Wintec. This was the beginning of her journey into massage as she was amazed at the benefits gained for both the client and herself and became hooked.
Having a taste for massage, she began part time courses with the NZ College of Massage and in 2005 gained her Certificate in Relaxation Massage with Sports, Pregnancy and Reflexology. Raewyn then went on to complete the full-time Diploma in Therapeutic Massage in 2007.
Raewyn continues with postgraduate study and has gained qualifications in Oncology Massage, Lymphatic Enhancement (incorporating Manual Lymphatic Drainage), On-Site Corporate Massage, Indian Head Massage and Turn Back Time Facial Massage.
Raewyn also gained her Diploma in Pregnancy Massage together with Partner Labour Support, enabling her to look after clients from their first trimester through to birth and the postnatal period.
Raewyn is dedicated to ongoing personal development to enhance her own knowledge and to give the best possible care and treatment to her clients. She will work together with her client to formulate a treatment plan, which may include home care in terms of stretches, and/or self massage techniques.
